The Salming Viper SL indoor shoe uses key features of the premium Viper 5 model, and thanks to the modified upper construction, it becomes an interesting alternative when you are primarily looking for a fast and light shoe with excellent breathability.
The upper of the Salming Viper SL model consists largely of excellently breathable mesh, which will keep your feet in maximum comfort and at the same time provide excellent support even during the most abrupt changes of direction. To increase resistance and increase stability, the mesh is overlaid with a layer of PU leather practically around the entire perimeter of the shoe.
Dampening of the Salming Viper SL shoes is provided by the lightweight cushioning compound Salming RunLite2™. This special blend of EVA foam is specially designed to minimize energy loss at impact and maximize energy return in every step. Its rather lower height also allows for a great feeling against the surface.
Key properties
Suitable for agile players, with an emphasis on speed and change of direction
Excellent breathability
By combining RollBar, LMS and LMS+ technologies, the shoe enables easier movement and bounce in extreme positions, which you get into for example when playing floorball or squash
Good feel for the surface - feels like a hard shoe
Very light indoor shoe
They are suitable for all indoor sports, thanks to their properties they are very popular among squash players and floorball players
Shoe construction and technology used
Upper of shoe
Breathability and maximum comfort
The very light construction of the upper of the Salming Viper SL shoe combines materials that make it perfectly breathable, very comfortable and at the same time able to hold sufficiently even during the most abrupt changes of direction.
Keeps the foot in place
The Salming HeelCup™ stabilizes and fixes the foot in the shoe, which is key for a feeling of security and comfort. We have developed a new, anatomically shaped cup that is slightly longer than the competition.
Midsole - cushioning of the shoe
Maximum energy in every step
The composition of Salming RunLite2™ premium cushioning compound, which is used in the midsole, is designed with maximum considerations for energy return in every step. Its lower height allows for a better feel for the surface.
Sole - the sole of the shoe
Special lightweight double-curved LMS unit integrated in the center of the sole supports correct direction and support of the feet during quick and unexpected lateral movements.
An ankle sprain due to a quick stop is one of the most common injuries in indoor sports. The special LMS+ 11° technology on the outer sides of the shoe sole greatly reduces this risk through an 11° tilt of the sole towards the center of the shoe.
The inner side of the sole is decorated with RollBar™ technology, which rounds the sole of the shoe in this part and allows the foot to tilt more inwards. It thus reduces the pressure on the edge of the thumb and provides an easier execution of the knee, which is so common for sports such as floorball and squash.
Comfort on impact, energy on rebound
TGS 62/75° technology divides the sole of the shoe into 2 parts.
The first part - from the heel to the ball of the foot - makes up approximately 62% of the sole area, and is designed with regard to maximum stability and shock absorption.
It is separated from the second part – the front part of the sole – by the so-called ballet line, which is guided by the sole at an angle of 75°. This split ensures that the shoe flexes in just the right place to stimulate the feet's natural lateral and forefoot curves. The front part of the shoe is then designed for maximum rebound efficiency.
Resistance and extra good grip for all indoor sports
The sole of the Viper model consists of a special XR110 rubber compound that excels in perfect traction control and great grip. This is further enhanced by the special Salming HexaGrip™ pattern formed by small hexagons in the key parts of the shoe.
