Supplementary vitamins

Vitamins are very important for the proper functioning of the body because they are involved in the metabolism of proteins, fats and sugars. With few exceptions, the human body is unable to produce vitamins and minerals on its own. Therefore, it needs to take them regularly from a varied diet, possibly through supplements.

Vitamins can be divided into two categories according to their chemical and physical properties:

  • Vitamins fat-soluble:

    • Vitamin A - promotes normal function of vision, proper vision in twilight and colour vision. It also promotes growth and proper development of mucous membrane cells, skin, blood formation and immunity. An equally interesting property of vitamin A is its beneficial effect on the normal function and quality of the skin.

    • Vitamin D - our body gets it from the action of the sun's ultraviolet rays. It promotes normal absorption/utilization of calcium and phosphorus, helps maintain normal teeth, bones and muscle function, and contributes to normal immune system function. Vitamin D3 is the most important form of vitamin D. Vitamin D3 ensures a balanced ratio of minerals in the body and is recommended to be taken together with vitamin K2.

    • Vitamin E - one of the most important antioxidants. It protects cells from free radicals, oxidative stress and at the same time helps to slow down cell aging.

    • Vitamin K - contributes to maintaining normal bone health and normal blood clotting. A less potent form of vitamin K1 is found in leafy vegetables. The more effective and more beneficial vitamin K2 is found in small amounts in animal products and sauerkraut.

  • Vitamins water soluble:

    • Vitamin C - or ascorbic acid, is important for normal immune system function. It is also important for joints, bones, muscles, skin and blood vessels.

    • The B-complex vitamin group - the B vitamin group includes a total of eight vitamins. Each has its own specific benefits for the body:

      • Vitamin B1 - involved in the breakdown and energy conversion of nutrients
      • Vitamin B2 - important for good eye, mucous membrane and skin health
      • Vitamin B3 - has an effect on mental resistance and the nervous system
      • Vitamin B5 - contributes to reducing the level of fatigue
      • Vitamin B6 - improves overall immunity and has a major effect on the nervous system
      • Vitamin B7 - supports the quality of hair, nails and skin
      • Vitamin B9 - important in pregnancy for proper fetal development
      • Vitamin B12 - only in foods of animal origin, important for energy

We offer a wide range of vitamins from leading manufacturers Swanson, Quicksilver Scientific and Life Extension.

We also recommend using our comprehensive filter for nutritional supplements and vitamins, where you can filter by: brand, active ingredient, form, and most importantly, what the supplement is intended for. If you need supplements quickly, then select only stock products in the filter, we ship those quickly.
